A PRESENTATION OF THE OPERA’S MUSIC AND MEANING
Rabbi Roger Klein
Wednesday, February 24 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
Cosi Fan Tutte, which the Cleveland Orchestra will perform on March 2, 4, 6, and 8, contains some of the most stunningly beautiful music in all of opera. It is also an opera that haunts the listener because, though the plot seems trivial and the characters superficial and silly, the unfolding of events, the shifting loyalties of the protagonists, and the ambiguous ending call into question the ideal of romantic love and human constancy.
